The catholic church
I have been considering my thoughts lately on the catholic church because i have new friends who use the chapel at a catholic church to pray and since i have the upmost respect for their humble yet powerful faith in Jesus, i was forced to reconsider my opinion.
my father was raised catholic and was an altar boy as a young man. My mother was raised in a presbyterian church, where she recieved christ for salvation. after my parents met they were influenced by friends to begin growing in faith, so they joined a non-denominational, bible believing church. it was during this time they were taught, from the pastor, about some false doctrines, that were, at that time, (around 1975) coming from the catholic church.
we attended that church until i was 10, then in my most impressionable years, i talked my family into switching to the independent baptist church, who's christian school i attended.
i am not exactly sure when my opinion began that the catholic church was evil, but these ideas where kindled and encouraged within me from a small child even until today. i speculate my opinion was formed partially thro my parents.
i believe the church makes mistakes. every denomination. every sect. There are people in each one of those who allow satan to work thro them and thus seek to destroy the true works of Christ. every denomination has them. We should not allow ourselves to become proud if we have not allowed satan to work thro us in those ways or we risk the very thing of which we brag. We should, on our knees, continually ask God to keep us from evil (and continually thank him for doing so) because it is by Him alone we avoid being used as instruments of satan.
ok, so i renounce my thoughts of the catholic church being evil and i give props to all those within the catholic church who have risked their lives for Christ.
i pray for the purging of sexual sin within ALL churchs that has tainted the name of Christ and i pray against the negative effects it has had on ALL church's, denominations and sects. i pray we can join together for these last days and round up as many as we can to be joined with Christ and receive within themselves the wholeness and fulfillment of what they were created for, and confess our own allowance in joining satan's attempts to dismember and weaken the body of Christ.

Thanks. The words of encouragement made my day better, knowing that as Christian brothers and sisters, we can seek the Lord first and not spend our precious time here on earth fighting.
