confession

for too long i have pursued christ or actually said i was pursuing christ, when in all actuality i was pursuing cultural acceptance. i tried to use God as a front for my endeavor.
within the american church we consistently vie for the acceptance of society while we say we are trying to find ways to reach the unsaved.
how are we so arrogant that we actually believe we must be embraced by a culture in order to be effective ministers of christ. how arrogant we are that we pooh-pooh the way jesus lived and loved as an effective way to minister to the lost. christ wasn't at all accepted by his peers, and yet he had the only perfect ministry.
do not be deceived. the enemy along with his children can smell bull shit and deception. they know sin when they see it. only the perfect life of christ will survive these ages and will be able to get thru to a people in need of the lord.
as the american church we need to confess our sinful desire to be accepted and loved by the world. we should whole heartedly accept and submit to the life of christ to work and live within us. it will become the only hope for the lost in these days.
don't expect to be accepted by your peers, jesus wasn't. we should confess and undress from our minds and body's the desire for acceptance, confident with the knowledge that christ desires us more than we know, or we risk cold water dilution with the heat of God.

This really spoke to me. I am guilty of trying to get acceptance every day. Thank you, Jesus, for your child!
